SOLUXâ

THE NEW ROOF INTEGRATED COLLECTOR

Most collector panels are designed to be ‘retrofit’ on top of the roof tiles. Solar Sense has designed and manufacture SOLUXâ, the only UK manufactured roof integrated collector system, aimed at the new build market (particularly social housing), where the solar collector is designed to be part of the roof itself. This gives an architecturally superior aesthetic.

Solar Sense have designed the SOLUXâ collector so that it can be incorporated into the roofing surface using traditional time-tested flashing techniques,

SOLUXâ collector systems, which compliment the VELUXâ window ‘near flush’ window range, have been specifically designed for new build and with a life expectancy on par with the roof itself.  The integrated and near flush collector system is designed to be incorporated as part of the building without affecting the integrity of the roof structure and avoids any need to drill fixing holes or flash pipe work entries through the roof surface. In fact, anyone who has installed a VELUXâ window will be able to fit a SOLUXâ collector system in a professional manor.

The SOLUXâ collector system offers significant advantages over other collector systems: Longer life; maintenance free; aesthetically pleasing; reduced heat losses from loft;  no external fixings or pipe flashiness; fast and simple installation (no need to do two jobs – tile roof and then fit collector); offset cost of roof tiles.

The integrated system will last the life of your roof, and can then be refurbished when felt & batten re-roofing. Service life will exceed 20 years. A significant factor when evaluating the economics or pay back. The SOLUXâ integrated system is the most economical system in the long term, with embodied energy pay back period of 9-11 months and is fully recyclable.

 Additional Design Considerations

 ·          Heat retaining insulation thickness need not be compromised. (50% greater than most)

·          Insulation values will be shared between collector and loft.

·          No wind chill factor across the back of the box.

·          Reduced wind chill across the glazing surface and collector sides

·          No fixings or pipe flashings to insulate seal maintain weather or ever fail

·          Utilising the best absorber plate available in the UK

Embodied energy pay back period of  1 year and fully recyclable.
